Karijini Dreaming

karijini-pic Ok it is a bit of a swipe at Flemmings Hawk Dreaming but it just seemed to work so nicely. This is a pic of my mate Mark taking pics at Oxer lookout where all the gorges meet. A great place to wear shoes with grip. Mark had his thongs on so he was safe!!!! I love this place and have to thank Mark for adding scale to my shot. Now if only he was wearing a bikini………………..and yes was a blonde………………….all right, female too!! πŸ™‚

  1. very cool shot mate, i think i really need to get up there!!!…. also i like the border/ logo looks wicked!!

  2. Awesome stuff, Christian. Great to see some new stuff from you πŸ™‚

  3. Nice title mate, every single person has their own Dreaming so title works alright πŸ™‚

Great shot, makes me want to visit Karijini very soon and those awesome Pilbara landscapes! That red Pilbara iron rich dirt and rock is magnificient.

Gorges in thongs, true blue Aussie way πŸ˜€ I remember at Cape York, walking to the tip at 8am and meeting two blokes, wearing thongs, board shorts and drinking beers at 8am, all ya need hehe.

  4. At the very beginning didn’t noticed a man standing there. But it’s great to include people into the scene – just to show the perspective.

  5. Beautiful shot mate… wouldnt get that field of view on the GX.

Flemming mine is “Spoon Bay Dreaming” haha.

  6. bloody Aussies Flemming, all they think about is having a good time, the favourite saying, ” she’ll be right mate”

thanks everyone for the comments, and Matt that is why I don’t shoot film πŸ™‚

  7. Nice Perspective of the place, I didnt realise they were so large in the other photos I have seen.

  8. Matt, Spoon Bay Dreaming is good πŸ™‚ Your own Dreaming or totem could also be an animal though, and then since this is your personal dreaming/totem you can never eat that animal, never draw that animal.

  9. How are the roads mate? I am leading a film crew through there in 10 days, any feedback would be great.

  10. Fantastic rich colours Christian. Love the Pilbara and want to get back there too.

  11. roads are fine, some rough patches as always but no problems at all. Who is the film crew???

  12. Beautiful soft light and great image of an incredible place. I’d prefer to see the green cliff tops on the right and left of the image, rather than having the gorge walls suddenly end at the top of the frame. Maybe it would add a more natural frame and concentrate the eye elsewhere? Love how the white T-shirt pops out against the red rock.

  13. Great shot. πŸ™‚

I’m up at Karijini next week for a few days. πŸ™‚ Hopefully there is plenty of water.

  14. Stephanie any higher and it would have included the horizon and sky which didn’t make it look as tall and grand. I know what your saying though and would have done that if it was possible. Thanks for commenting on the blog.

Jamie watch out for the snakes when swimming in the gorges!!!

  15. love it hey.
definitely can’t help but want to be back there tomorrow!!

  18. too awesome. Wish i was in Karijini… ill be there during mid year holidays though. 4th year in a row!
    Is this dales gorge?

  19. Phil mark did get some cool shots, the gorges were pretty full so we had to do lots of wading.

yep Mark Rio paid for the first part of the trip, Karijini was our cost but I managed to pull some strings and get free accommodation.

    Stakky it is Oxer lookout.

  20. im guessing “pull some strings” doesnt mean set up a tent and rough it?

  21. Awesome… I am heading to Karijini in June but this makes me want to get there NOW ! !
