Port Douglas Tutorial coming soon

port douglas I am finally going to get together some photoshop tutorials to show my workflow, this will probably be the first one. Will let you know when it is on-line. This image was taken on a rainy morning down near the inlet in Port Douglas. It looks cold but it was kind of balmy. Had my eye out for Crocs but I don’t think there were any about. Still it makes you a little twitchy!

  1. Looks very nice, a little different to when we where getting married … There was a sign right on the beach yet no one really took much notice … Awesome place to get unwind and soak up those balmy tropical winds ….

  2. wow, awesome feel to this shot!
    love it šŸ™‚

  3. This shot has a nice balance and ambience, not to mention a perfectly level horizon. Looking forward to the tutorial – are you going to give away your secrets for managing to get so many shots devoid of all living things (do you use chemicals, noise, harsh language, physical violence or just give them that stare of yours?).

  4. Funny, or is it that uncanny thing again…….?

I was just looking back in the archives of your blog yesterday and saw the post from last year when you were going to do this and you ran the comp about what price they would be.
Wondered what ever happened to the idea as it sounded good at the time.

  5. Nice shot…I’ve been here many times and this looks good given that it’s a stitch…

  6. Nice shot Christian

  7. Nice shot Christian , cant wait for your work flow video is ready

  8. Has a beautiful calm look to it. Love the wave movement on the left.

  9. Absolutely fantastic photo. Very calming.

  10. Very nice Christian. Was this a stitch in landscape orientation?

  11. it’s all about the stare Muzz

Merv everyone then said they wanted to pay me as much as possible so I could retire.

Luke it was in fact, I get lazy some times and shoot less frames horizontally, still this made it a little harder to stitch as I didn’t shoot it with enough overlap between a couple of shots.

Thanks everyone else for the great comments.

  12. Stunning image Christian – very moody atmosphere ! who needs light ? šŸ˜‰

  13. hey Christian,
Is the tutorial for this one still coming or has it taken a backseat ?

  14. Awesome shot man… reminds me of New Caledonia. I need to come to one of your workshops some time. šŸ™‚
